At Aesthethica, our concern for the safety and well-being of our patients extends well beyond just a professional consultation and treatment. We appreciate the health and safety of all our patients above anything else.

At Aesthetica, patients will not contract any diseases due to the autoclave that sterilizes at 270 degrees Celsius any instruments. Sterilization can always be viewed by our patients. The clinic adheres to all the sterilization and disinfection standards – including instruments, dental unit, floor, the environment.

We take extra precautions when dealing with young patients because often they don’t want injections. Because the oral cavity is a sensible part of the body, and dental treatment in kids needs to be executed with extra care. Be it a simple extraction or parodontics, we always offer detailed instruction for post-op care for our youngest patients, in order to prevent infections and lower the risk of any discomfort they might encounter.

Post-op instructions

Sometimes you might experience a mild discomfort after dental treatment due to anesthesia, the procedure itself, or related to the fact that the mouth is open for long periods of time. This discomfort can last up to a couple of days. The best treatment in this scenario is anti-inflammation medicine, for example ibuprofen, that can be commonly found at any pharmacy (note: read the prospect before taking any medicine).

Some procedures such as cavities, fillings, or veneers can determine thermo-sensitivity for up to a few weeks. This is because a part of the tooth’s layers are eliminated or replaced with a mixture that doesn’t react to differences in temperature the same way a tooth does. This sensitivity normally disappears in time. Special tooth paste with anti-sensitivity properties or anti-inflammation medicine can help also.

After a removal of teeth, it’s recommended you avoid physical activities for up to 24 hours, as well as smoking, excessive rinsing, alcoholic beverages, extra cold/hot food or beverages.

After a scaling, the doctor can recommend using a specific anti-sensitivity or anti-bacterial mouthwash for a few days to accelerate the healing and reduce inflammation. It’s also recommended to avoid consuming beverages/food that are very hot/cold.

After a root canal treatment, some patients can show signs of pain of varying intensities, pain that can be treated with anti-inflammatory medicine, such as ibuprofen. Teeth that have no roots become softer and are exposed to fractures more than the ones with roots. It’s recommended to chew on the opposite side of until the tooth’s crown has been restored.

If pain persists, please call us to schedule an appointment. We offer phone support, so don’t hesitate in contacting us!
